Join Playlist 92.7 as we help raise awareness and walk for a great cause at the 2012 Promise Walk for Preeclampsia Saturday May 19th, 2012 beginning at 9am. This amazing walk takes place at Bill Barber Park in Irvine, CA. Too few know the reality and impact of preeclampsia, a life-threatening disorder of pregnancy that affects both the mother and the unborn baby. It happens in as many as one in 12 pregnancies. And any woman can be affected, regardless of her race, ethnic background, skin color, size, or somewhere in the middle. Even good health and healthy habits aren’t a guarantee of protection against this disorder.

LONDON (Reuters) - Rats "stream like hot metal, to the rim of the world" and children, lured by the music of a Pied Piper-like exterminator, disappear into a hillside in British composer George Benjamin's eerie 2006 mini-opera "Into the Little Hill". Benjamin claims they're still alive, and perhaps better off, inside that hill, where the "piper" leads them after the minister fails to pay him for exterminating the rats, but one can't help but wonder how much oxygen they're getting. ...

Cavanagh poses at the party for the finalists of the television show NEW YORK (Reuters) - Hollie Cavanagh was sent home from top-rated TV talent show "American Idol" on Thursday night after singing "I Can't Make You Love Me" - a song choice that proved prophetic. Cavanagh closed out the show by performing Miley Cyrus' "The Climb," remaining composed while fellow contestant Joshua Ledet wept as she sang. Almost 70 million votes were cast to determine Thursday's outcome. Audience voting was based on performances on Wednesday night's episode during which contestants sang songs by artists from California, followed by songs they wished they had written. ...
